Brian Perkins, President of Dirigo Strategies, LLC attended the annual Surface Navy Association (SNA) Symposium in Washington, DC held January 10-12, 2023, representing clients, and participating in forums and events.
Clients we supported include Light Structures of Norway, a leading global producer of fiber-optic hull stress monitoring systems; Vestdavit of Norway, a producer of the most capable heavy weather davits; and UMS Skeldar of Sweden, a manufacturer of medium shipboard Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
This year, experts and decision makers from the military, industry, and Congress discussed impacts on the Surface Force as a critical element of national defense and security in an era of great power competition. With over 80 exhibitors and more than 3,000 attendees, this year’s Symposium was one of the most influential professional development and networking opportunities available in the defense community. The 2023 focus fell on U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Marine Corp plans, budgets, top issues, and new rollouts. Our clients were able to show and describe what they offer and how their products improve safety and efficiency in the combined fleet, while being guided through to the key decision makers.
In the photo, Major General Turner, USMC is describing the impact in the Pacific of not receiving the 35 Light Amphibious Warships that he needs. Our clients were there to hear it and be coached on how to market to that need.
SNA is an Association of Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard officers, enlisted, and retirees that provides support for its members, and programs and activities that enable professional growth. The Symposium allows corporate members and sponsors to display the latest technology in support of missions, provides a forum for discussion of critical service issues, and enables public and military leaders to share their vision for the coming year.
